Roots Rescue

Roots Rescue is a 2D Platformer made originally for the Global Game Jam 2023. The theme for that years' jam was ROOTS.

This is a game about a little creature whose job is to rescue trees by killing the evil bugs in their roots.

All Assets are original.

DISCLAIMER: This was our first game jam and first time developing a game. Unfortunately, this game is far from finished but we learned a lot from it.

It also has NO SOUND.

The credits in the Main Menu don't work either.

Controls:

Movement: WASD or Directional Arrows

Attack: Z

Jump: Space

To navigate the game in its current state:

1. Go right to enter the tree. You will enter it's roots.
2. You will be climbing the roots of the tree.
3. Go down and go left. Kill the bug and collect the purple orb at the end of that platform.
4. Head back to the main root and go down and then right. Figure out how to get the blue orb.
5. After collecting the blue orb, head back to the main root.
6. This is where the progress finishes for this version of the game.
7. You will have to go back up to leave the roots of the tree.
